After extensive research and abundant, heartfelt deliberation, the MYC Sailing School has decided to cancel all sailing classes for the summer of 2020. As everyone can imagine, this was a very difficult decision to make.
Our number one priority has always been the safety of our young sailors and our instructional staff. To be sure, the Covid-19 pandemic has significantly magnified the importance of conducting our programs in a safe and responsible manner. The appropriate or required preventative measures such as limited class sizes, social-distancing, staff training, equipment sanitization and daily health documentation are simply too cumbersome for us to consistently and confidently accomplish.
While it is too early to predict what 2021 will look like, we are already busy gathering information and studying the experiences of other programs around the country to identify and prepare for what our sailing school programs might look like next summer. Thanks to everyone for your patience and support!

Classes are led by US Sailing Certified Instructors who are experienced sailors and also certified in CPR.
Instructor-to-student ratios are kept small to maximize each student’s experience, so class size is limited.
